IP Telephony Service with the SMB 1500 System

Whaleback Systems has architected system management features into the SMB 1500 so that Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs) don't have to worry about operations and management of this leading-edge IP PBX.

Each SMB 1500 deployed in a production environment is monitored by Whaleback engineers in the Whaleback network operations center. The monitoring information is stored at a secured hosting site to support disaster recovery, and it is accessible to authorized Whaleback engineers from remote locations via a web-based interface. Whaleback network engineers monitor the status of each customer, and sophisticated alarms and events are used to proactively troubleshoot network operations to identify any potential issues before they impact IP telephony service.

Each deployed SMB 1500 continuously feeds management information back to the network operations center, and management information traffic fed back from the SMB 1500 is filtered at the network operations center, which automatically identifies any problem areas or potential problem areas and issues alerts to the monitoring team for resolution.

Each SMB 1500 supports linear scalability, so that SMBs can cost effectively support more users and expand their IP telephony service infrastructure to support business growth. Whaleback also centrally upgrades deployed SMB 1500s over the Internet without any need for customer intervention. Periodic downloads are distributed online so that organizations can take advantage of new services and features without the need to assign personnel to upgrade the system.
