Mark Galvin—Founder, President and CEO
An expert in WAN and digital telephony standards, Mark Galvin has successfully launched several high tech companies. Prior to co-founding Whaleback Systems, Mark was founder, president and CEO of Cedar Point Communications where he led the company from inception through deployment of IP Local Exchange Carrier Telephone Switches in the cable industry, attracting cable industry giants Comcast and Charter as customers. Mark previously founded and served as president and CEO of RAScom, a manufacturer of data communications equipment that delivered aggressively priced open system remote access servers to enterprise and Internet service provider customers. Entrepreneur magazine ranked RAScom in its "1998 Hot 100" and "1999 Hot 100" listings. In 1999, Mark merged RAScom into Excel Switching and was appointed vice president of the company's Local Exchange and Access Group.

In 1989, Mark co-founded and served as president and CEO of Primary Rate Incorporated (PRI), one of Inc. magazine's 1995 100 fastest growing private companies. PRI designed, manufactured and marketed WAN and digital telephony subsystems to prominent data communications and telecommunications companies on an OEM basis. In 1995, Mark successfully merged PRI into Xircom in a deal valued at over $50 million. Mark, who received the Journal of New England Technology All Star Award for his contributions to the telecom industry, has published more than a dozen articles and has spoken at numerous industry conferences on the role of emerging communications technologies. He is also a member of the SCTE. Mark studied math and computer sciences in the graduate and undergraduate facilities of McGill University of Montreal before moving into voice and data call processing software development positions with PBX manufacturers ZTEL and LAN-TEL.

Wray West—Founder and Vice President of Engineering
Wray West is an engineer at heart. He developed a reputation for knowledge and expertise by applying his talent at several different companies throughout his 20-year career, including Primary Rate Incorporated and Data General. Most recently, Wray served as vice president of systems engineering for Cedar Point Communications, where he oversaw the integration of company products into carrier operations. In addition, Wray helped the company develop next-generation switching equipment for cable system operators. Prior to joining Cedar Point, Wray was a co-founder and the chief technology officer of Indus River Networks, a leading developer of managed remote networking solutions that addressed the scalability, security, dependability and policy management requirements of large corporations worldwide. As CTO, Wray utilized existing and emerging technologies to fulfill customer and market needs. Wray holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc (IEEE).

Peter Lojko—Senior Vice President of Operations
Peter Lojko is an experienced telecommunications industry executive with extensive experience in commercializing network technology and services. Peter has nearly 30 years of experience in business development, engineering and operations for leading carriers and vendors in the telecom, PCS, cellular and satellite industries. He previously ran his own wireless Consulting Firm helping technology companies promote their solutions to operators and standards bodies. Before that he was founder, President and CEO of Watercove Networks, which developed a mobile data infrastructure solution focused on the mass-market deployment of personalized mobile data services. He has also served as Vice President and General Manager for the Wireline and Wireless Business Units of Excel Switching, where he established and successfully grew the direct-to-carrier sales business for programmable infrastructure switches. Prior to Excel, Peter held the positions of Regional VP/GM for NextWave Telecom and served as VP of Operations for American Mobile Satellite Corp. He began his career at NYNEX Mobile and New England Telephone, where he directed large engineering and operations teams. Peter received his MBA from Suffolk University and a BSEE degree from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. Peter serves on the Board of Directors of The First Tee of New Hampshire.

Todd Hussey—Vice President of Sales
Todd Hussey is responsible for distribution of the CrystalBlue Voice Service. He has over 20 years of sales management experience in high-growth, venture-backed companies in a variety of emerging technology segments. He joined Whaleback from VoIP network management solutions vendor Viola Networks, where he was Vice President of North American Sales. He previously served as Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales for IT service delivery management software provider Adlex Corp., where he successfully designed and implemented a worldwide sales strategy while leading and managing a team of 20 regional sales directors, systems engineers, inside sales and post sales support. Since 1984, Todd has held national level sales and account management positions for a full spectrum of enterprise and carrier product and service companies, including Silverback Technologies Inc., Concord Communications Inc., PictureTel Corp. (now Polycom) and Fujitsu Business Communications. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Fitchburg State College.

Dave Zwicker—Vice President of Marketing
Dave Zwicker is responsible for market planning, branding, product marketing, marketing programs and press and analyst relations. He has over 25 years of industry experience in software and system level solutions for both enterprise and service provider markets. Zwicker joined Whaleback from Viola Networks, where he was VP of Marketing for this Voice over IP (VoIP) network management solutions vendor. Previously, he was VP of Marketing for Adlex, an IT service delivery management software supplier to enterprises and service providers. He has also served as VP of Product and Segment Marketing at 3Com Corporation, VP of Solutions Marketing at Enterasys Networks and VP of Marketing for Indus River Networks, a Virtual Private Networking start-up company. Dave holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Kent State University.

Ken Stess—Vice President of Corporate and Business Development
Ken Stess excels at building successful client relationships. His expertise spans the telecommunications, computer and software industries. As vice president and general manager of OEM Solutions for Lucent Technologies, Ken managed the operations of three global product divisions in the next-generation networking market. Earlier in his career, Ken served as vice president of sales for Excel Switching Corporation, a leading worldwide provider of open, programmable switching solutions. Most recently, he was the executive vice president of business development for General Fiber Communications, the cable industry's largest fulfillment provider. Ken holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Colorado.

Peter Phelps—Chief Financial Officer
Peter Phelps is an experienced technology company executive with over 25 years experience in finance, accounting and operations. Before joining Whaleback, he was the COO/CFO of Next Online Technologies, Inc., a software as a service company that provides software and software tools to the mortgage industry. Prior to Next Online, he was a partner with Cobblestone Advisers LLC, a firm that provides strategic advisory services and raises capital for privately held international businesses. Prior to Cobblestone, he was the CFO for Plymouth Rock Assurance Corporation, a billion dollar revenue property and casualty insurance company. Peter was also the CFO of GiantLoop Network, Inc. (an optical networking services company), Andover.Net, Inc. (a Linux software tools company that he helped take public in 1999) and Rosse Enterprises Limited (a private equity firm in Boston). Peter began his career in the audit department of Ernst & Young LLP, followed by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the tax department. Peter holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland and an M.B.A. from George Washington University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Charlie Snell—Vice President of Customer Service
The Customer Service organization’s responsibility begins when an order is accepted and spans material and service procurement through installation and then ongoing customer support for the life of the service agreement. Charlie Snell is responsible for the coordination of these activities and for the network infrastructure that is the foundation of Whaleback’s CrystalBlue Voice Service.  Charlie has over 30 years in operations in computer and communications industries in both large and small enterprises. Most recently, Charlie served as the VP Operations for Cedar Point Communications for five years where his responsibilities included Manufacturing, Customer Service and System Quality Assurance. Prior to Cedar Point, Charlie was a key member of the management team of several other successful start ups including Quantum Bridge Communications, Primary Rate Incorporated (later known as Netaccess) and Clearpoint Inc. His career also spanned several years at Wang Laboratories during its successful period in the 1980s. Charlie holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Masters of Business Administration from Boston University.
